Leslie H. A. Rawlins
1945 - 2020
Les’ passion for antiques and weapons started at the age of 7 when his sister gave him a P14 bayonet
for his birthday. He continued to buy antique guns with his pocket money and when at the age of
16 he joined his parents’ furniture business, he soon converted the store to an antique gun shop.
In 1969 he joined Weller & Dufty in Birmingham as a weapons cataloguer and later conducted the
auctions. His first trip to India in 1974 started a journey of discovery, literally knocking at Palace
gates and finding wonderful things. He always called India his second home. He brought back
Armouries of antique guns, swords, daggers, bayonets, fine old English Sporting guns and
much more. The rest is history.
